Services set Jan. 26 for Villager killed last week in automobile accident

Services are planned for later this month for an 80-year-old Villager killed in an accident Jan. 8 in Nassau County.
James Walter Strobel was the former president of Erskine College in South Carolina. He was a graduate of Ohio State and enjoyed a long career in higher education. He and his wife Donna moved to The Villages last year.
Strobel was a passenger in a 2003 Ford van that collided with a tractor-trail truck. Strobel was pronounced dead at University of Florida Health. The driver of the van also suffered serious injuries.
Services are set for Jan. 26 at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages. To read his full obituary follow the link below:
