Seventh grade pencil-poking incident investigated at Lake Weir Middle School

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a pencil-poking incident involving a pair of seventh-graders at Lake Weir Middle School.

A deputy working as a school resource officer was contacted by the father of a female seventh grade student who said he wants to press charges against a male seventh-grader who reportedly made fun of his daughter and poked her in the arm several times with a pencil.
