Seventh grader found to be in possession of brass knuckles at Lake Weir Middle School

A seventh-grader was found to be in possession of brass knuckles Tuesday at Lake Weir Middle School.

The student told a school official he had only brought the brass knuckles to school to show to friends and did not plan to use them in a confrontation, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The student’s parents were called and they responded to the school where they were told a report was being written for carrying a concealed weapon.
