Shera Ann Parker

Shera Ann Parker, age 64, of The Villages, FL. passed away under the care of Cornerstone Hospice House. Shera passed away 12 years to the day of her mother’s, Queen Esther Dixon, passing.
Born in Portsmouth, VA, she was a daughter of James Wesley Dixon Sr, and the late Queen Esther Dixon. Prior to her retirement, she completed a 30 plus year career teaching and was an advocate for children with special needs. She had a Doctorate Degree in Education (Inclusion) specialized in the area of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her God and was a real “Prayer Warrior”, praying for family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her children: Elbert Parker Jr, and Shantel Parker of Washington, DC , and Sherese Parker of Itta Bena, Mississippi. She is the proud grandmother of 3 granddaughters: Anjanae, Andraya, and Ryin. She is also survived by sisters: Mary Esther Ellis of Portsmouth, VA; Gloria Jean Ingram of The Villages; The Reverend Tina Dixon-Bartlett (Richard) of The Villages, FL; Dr.; Linda Ford of Columbus, GA; Brenda Lee (Ernest, Sr). of Dacula, GA; and Cynthia Madkins of Chesapeake, VA; and brother: James W. Dixon, Jr. of Florence, SC. Along with her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister: Carolyn Coppedge.
