Side striping of multi-modal paths up for discussion again Monday morning

A continuation of the debate over side striping on the multi-modal paths is set to continue Monday morning when the Project Wide Advisory Committee meets at the District Office Board Room.

PWAC is set to meet at 9 a.m. in the District Office at 984 Old Mill Run in Lake Sumter Landing.

The debate over side striping has raged for months.

The Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group earlier this summer was poised to move ahead with $300,000 Thermoplastic striping on all 42 miles of path in The Villages. However, residents revolted when they learned of the pricetag, the group soon reconvened and temporarily tabled side striping.

The Multi-Modal Path Discussion Group, which includes PWAC, the Amenity Authority and Community Development Districts 1 through 4, will meet at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 at Savannah Center.
