A driver for Signature Coach van has lost his license for a year after he was arrested last month with vodka in a cooler in a company van.

Gary Wayne Sigmon, 58, of Summerfield, had been arrested in September by Lady Lake police after he was spotted speeding on U.S. Hwy. 27/441. It was shortly after midnight and Sigmon told police he had just dropped off a passenger. He failed field sobriety exercises. He later provided breath samples that registered .195 and .199 blood alcohol content.

A cooler was discovered in the van and it contained a bottle of McCormick Vodka.

Earlier this month in Lake County Court, Sigmon was found guilty of a charge of driving under the influence. He has been placed on probation for 12 months, has lost his driver’s license for a year, must attend DUI school and was ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
