Speeding driver on felony probation arrested for driving on suspended license on County Road 462

Kengela Charnise Hampton

A woman was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended Tuesday night after she was caught speeding on County Road 462.

Kengela Charnise Hampton, 24, of Fruitland Park, had been at the wheel of a blue Chevrolet Sebring at 8:15 p.m. when she was clocked traveling at 51 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She was pulled over in the parking lot of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.

The deputy discovered that Hampton has six separate suspensions of her license for failure to pay traffic fines, failure to meet financial responsibilities and for having 12 points on her license in 12 months.

The deputy also found that Hampton is on felony probation for aggravated assault with a weapon following a conviction in Lake County.

She was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
