All-star Villages lineup to perform in benefit for children living in Ocala National Forest

An all-star line-up of Villages’ performers will appear Monday Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in North Lake Presbyterian Church to benefit SoZo Kids.

Tickets are $10 and will support, SoZo Kids, an organization formed to help the children living in the Ocala National Forest.  They are among the estimated 45,000 residents of the Forest, and many live in extreme poverty and desperate conditions.
Local performers include: Bill Davis, Diana Arlt, Chris Bolus, Jack Kolinski, Jan Lavin, Jill Marrese, John Rogerson, Carter Poust, Sue Schuler, Alex Scopino, Carolyn Hoffman. There will also be other surprise guests. The church is located at: 975 Rolling Acres Rd.

The web site sozokids.org states:
“SoZo is a Greek word that means to rescue; to save; to heal; to make whole. With many of these families living without electricity and running water, that has become SoZo’s aim… to rescue as many lives as possible through programs, events, education, love, compassion and whatever means necessary.

“SoZo Kids is a sponsorship program that provides the necessary means in helping each child receive free food, supplies and access to all of the programs and services to help them through their level of poverty.
“This includes Turning Point Mentor Centers, an after school and summer program to help children with their education.
“Camp SoZo, a place where the children of the Ocala National Forest can get away from the poverty stress home-life and just have fun being a kid.
“The Filling Station, a self-service restaurant where students can come and gain a good work ethic to build the best career path possible.”
