Steven Anthony Mate, 48, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in Tampa, FL surrounded by family. Steven was born in Chicago, Illinois to Duane and Kathy Mate. He is a graduate of Wissahickon Senior High School in Ambler, PA and Temple University, Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. He worked as a freelance graphic artist in all genres for over 20 years. Steven is survived by his father Duane and his mother Kathy of Summerfield, FL and his brother Ryan of Winter Haven, FL in addition to numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 18th at Village of Faith Baptist Church, Wildwood, FL to be followed by a private internment. Pastor Ron Pledger will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steven’s name to Village of Faith Baptist Church, 8653 CR 127 Wildwood, FL 34785 or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
