Store employee arrested at Kohl’s; accused thief jailed after fleeing on foot

Two people were arrested in separate incidents Tuesday at Kohl’s.

An employee of the store was arrested after it was discovered he had stolen items from the store. Joshua R. Armstrong, 18, of Leesburg, is facing a felony charge of grand theft after he allegedly took six packages of Adidas men’s underwear, Nike socks, T-shirts, 007 men’s fragrance and jelly beans, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The items had a total value of $533.75.

He began working at the store in December. He had confessed to management that he had taken the items.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.

Earlier in the day, a 24-year-old Kentucky man was arrested after allegedly taking a pair of shorts and a T-shirt from the store. He fled on foot from a loss prevention officer. He was located a short time later by a police officer at a nearby mattress store. Christian P. Roberts of London, Kentucky is facing charges of petit theft and resisting a merchant. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,500 bond.
