Summerfield motorcyclist critically injured in collision with 72-year-old driver of automobile

A 29-year-old Summerfield man was critically injured when his motorcycle was struck by an automobile driven by a 72-year-old woman Tuesday afternoon in Marion County.

Craig D. Conboy had been riding 2012 Harley-Davidson at 2:45 p.m. on SE 132 Street Road when he was struck by a 2016 Nissan Versa driven by Dianne Jundt of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jundt had been traveling east on SE 132 Street Road in the left turn lane approaching the intersection of State Road 35. Conboy’s motorcycle, was traveling west on SE 132 Street Road in the right lane. According to witnesses, the traffic signal for westbound traffic was green. As Conboy approached the intersection, while Jundt turned left to travel north and entered the path of the motorcycle.

Conboy was ejected from the motorcycle and traveled west before coming to rest in the right lane of SE 132 Street Road, 56 feet west of the area of collision. Jundt’s vehicle overturned onto its left side and came to rest facing southwest at the south end of the center median.

Conboy was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Jundt was transported to Munroe Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Conboy had not been wearing a helmet, the report noted.
