A 46-year-old Summerfield woman was arrested after allegedly biting a loss prevention officer at Beall’s.
Michelle Wiecek Vanostran entered the store on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Lady Lake on the afternoon of the Fourth of July with a large tote bag which she filled with merchandise, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A loss prevention officer followed her into the parking lot.
Vanostran tried to get away and elbowed the loss prevention officer in the chest and stomach area, the report indicated. She also bit him on his right wrist, the report said. She was arrested on a charge of battery and two counts of larcency. She was also found to be wanted on a warrant charging her with violating her probation on a charge of petit theft.
She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
