Summerfield woman shoots pit bull/labrador mix she claims charged at her

A Summerfield woman shot a pit bull/labrador mix she claimed charged at her Monday morning at her farm on SE Hwy. 42.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to the 41-year-old woman’s property. She said the dog had charged at her and her animals. She shot the dog with a .22-caliber rifle.

At the time, the dog was at the end of the woman’s driveway and was still alive. Animal Control also responded to the scene.
