Sumter County sheriff’s deputies have apprehended a 27-year-old man suspected in the attempted murder of a man Wednesday in Webster.
Ivan Mobley of Webster is being held without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
The attempted murder took place about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Deputies responded to a call after 34-year-old Tony Warthen drove himself to the Marathon gas station on Market Boulevard in Webster and sought law enforcement assistance. Warthen had been shot in the face and was airlifted by Bay Flight to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Mobley was subsequently identified as a suspect in the case.
Deputies apprehended him at the intersection of U.S. 301 and County Road 673.
