Sumter Sunshine Community Foundation looking for philanthropic nominees for awards dinner

A message from the Sumter Sunshine Community Foundation:

In honor of National Philanthropy Day, Sumter Sunshine Community Foundation is hosting a Celebration of Giving, an evening to celebrate philanthropy: giving, volunteering and everything that you do to make our community a better place to live.   Sunshine Awards will be presented to recognize individuals, families, corporations and groups that have made a significant difference in our area through giving, making our world brighter.

Each year, around the world, National Philanthropy Day is set aside to celebrate philanthropy and all it has made possible.  Annually, we want to honor local philanthropists who have made significant contributions during the year in our region.   We want to honor community investors for their outstanding support and commitment to improving the quality of life in our communities.   It gives us all the opportunity to reflect on those that generously give of their time, talents, and treasure for the betterment of others.

We are fortunate as a Community Foundation to work with outstanding volunteer leaders, philanthropists, organizations, corporations and professionals.   The Sunshine Awards given will celebrate and honor the outstanding contribution of time, leadership and financial support made by organizations and individuals who have excelled in advancing the spirit of giving.

The 2016 Sumter Sunshine Community Foundation –  Sunshine Awards Dinner will be held in conjunction with National Philanthropy Day, Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Wildwood Country Resort from 6 to 9 p.m.  Dress Code: Cocktail Attire
