Suspect arrested after burglary, struggle with homeowner’s son-in-law

A 32-year-old Umatilla man was arrested by Lady Lake police after he allegedly broke into a home and struggled with the homeowner’s son-in-law.

Police were called early Sunday morning to a home on Skyline Drive after the suspect, identified as Justin Elliott Campbell, was discovered by the son-in-law in a bedroom of his mother-in-law’s home, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The two men struggled and Campbell fled the scene with the son-in-law in pursuit. Police arrived at the scene and were able to take Campbell into custody. An ambulance was called to the scene to treat the son-in-law’s injuries.

Campbell was arrested on charges of burglary and battery. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $26,000 bond.
