Suspect in theft from Villages neighbor, back behind bars on new drug charges

A 40-year-old living in the Village of Orange Blossom Gardens arrested last year in an alleged theft from a neighbor, landed in jail Saturday on drug charges.

James Clayton Followell  of 1640 W. Schwartz Blvd. was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $3,000 bond.

Followell was arrested this past October, accused of stealing from his neighbor. You can read more about the case HERE

Followell has been arrested several times in the past five years.

While he was still listing an Indianapolis address, he was arrested in 2011 in Lady Lake as an out-of-state fugitive. He was also charged at the time with possession of marijuana.

In 2012 while living at 1008 Aloha Way, he was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

On Sept. 17, 2014, while living at 807 Weeping Willow Ave., Followell was arrested on two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia in Fruitland Park.

On Nov. 20, 2014, he was sentenced to 29 days in the Lake County Jail on charges of driving while license suspended and violation of probation on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.
