Suzy C. Dixon

Suzy C. Dixon

It is with great sadness that the family of Suzy C. Dixon, of Lady Lake, FL, announce her passing on December 9, 2018.

Suzy was born as Susan Gail Capin on January 25, 1947 in Norfolk, VA as the only child of Sonny & Eleanor Capin. Her parents operated Capin’s, a hat and handbag store on Granby Street in downtown Norfolk for more than 50 years.

Suzy attended Granby High School and then Boston University where her reputation for fashion emerged. Later she began her career in advertising including most recently as senior partner and graphic designer for Dixon Partners. She did design work for a number of the country’s most prominent corporations, real estate developers and brokerage firms as well as numerous non-profits on a pro bono basis. She was a tireless worker and cared deeply about her clients.

She and her husband Rick moved to Tampa, Florida in the mid 1990’s and more recently to Harbor Hills in Lady Lake where she was fortunate to make many good friends.

Suzy was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her husband Rick Dixon, son Scott Adams, daughter-in-law Monique, and granddaughters Griffin and Payton. She also leaves behind her step-children Dr. Mark Dixon and Mrs. Lauren Irwin and their 4 children. Suzy was also blessed to have the love and friendship of extended family and friends.

Suzy’s hobbies and interests included sewing, knitting, reading, travel with her best friend Rick, and soaking in the sunshine on a beautiful day. She was beautiful and will always be remembered for her smile.

A private service is planned for December 15th to celebrate her life.
