Taber H. Rich, 91, of The Villages, Florida, passed away November 7, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Gail Rich for 38 years. They lived in Syracuse NY until they retired in 1998 and moved to Florida. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Taber was the son of the late William and Marguerite Rich. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Merchant Marines and prior to his retirement he was a highly respected executive in the Dairy industry. He was at peace with God and a member of St. Paul’s Church in Belleview, FL. He loved his family, his friends, his golf and of course “his” team, the Boston Red Sox. He will be deeply missed by his wife Gail Rich of The Villages, FL, his daughter Yvonne Nathanson of New Jersey and his sons, John Mathews of Traverse City, MI and Matt Matthews of Syracuse, NY and his grandchildren, Michael, Shania, John, Jill, Lauren, Sophia, Selia and Saria. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159. A Mass will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Parrish, 5245 SE 112th Street, Belleview, FL 34421.
