Teenage bicyclist transported to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Hernando County

A 15-year-old bicyclist had to be transported to the hospital after he failed to yield the right of way to a vehicle in Hernando County.

Nefe Drosses of Spring Hill was traveling north on Amherst Avenue toward Linden Drive on just before 7 p.m. Thursday.  Drosses improperly entered the intersection and was struck by a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue being driven by 68-year-old Dara Jones, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Due to his age, no charges were levied on Drosses, who was at fault.

Drosses was transported with non-incapacitating injuries to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson.
