Teenager arrested after allegedly snatching iPhone from woman at The Quarters apartments

A 16-year-old was arrested on a charge of grand theft after allegedly snatching a woman’s iPhone after meeting her at the clubhouse at The Quarters apartments in Lady Lake.

A Summerfield woman had posted her iPhone online, offering it for sale and met with the teenager this past Friday at the clubhouse. They then walked to Building 8 when the teen asked if he could hold the iPhone. Once she handed it to him, he took off, the arrest report indicated.

The teen was later found by police at his mother’s apartment. He was positively identified by the Summerfield woman.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail.
