With snowbirds soon to return to Florida’s Friendliest Hometown, it’s a good time to brush up on golf cart safety. Here are a few basic tips:

1. Provide a seat for each person/pet

2. Secure children and pets

3. Keep passengers seated in cart

4. Keep arms and legs inside cart

5. Enter traffic lane safely before turning left

6. Be aware of vehicles turning right, across the cart lane

7. Maintain cart according to manufacturer’s recommendations

8. Do not text/phone while driving

9. Limit passing slower carts

10. Pull off the path when you need to stop
