Texas woman arrested on DUI charge after accident at hospice

A Texas woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence following a minor accident Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of Cornerstone Hospice.

A Sumter County sheriff’s deputy was called at 11:41 a.m.. to the scene at Casa Bella Way.

The deputy found Desiree Duhon Pianelli, 52, of Coppell, Texas who appeared to be unsteady on her feet and had a strong odor of alcohol, according to the arrest report. She told the deputy she had not been drinking, the report indicated.

However, she failed field sobriety exercises. She provided breath samples that showed a .247 and .254 blood alcohol content.

She was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $1,000.
