At Lake Sumter Landing this Saturday, The Chili Cookoff will give The Villages Parrot Heads Club an opportunity to defend the Peoples Choice award presented to the organization which raises the most money at the event for the Rotary Club’s charities.
Chili tasting begins at noon. Wristbands for chili tasting are $5.
The Parrot Heads have won the coveted People’s Choice Award two of the past three years and enter this year’s Cook Off with an award winning recipe by member Sue Schoening, made with ingredients donated by Fresh Market.
Co-Chairs Jim and Diane Hull have designed a “Margaritaville” stand from which they and their team of volunteers will dish out 20 gallons of chili to the public.
They will also have cookies, soda and water and entertainment for the chili tasters.
