Three people killed in wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 on Thanksgiving night

Three people died as the result of a wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 on Thanksgiving night in Hillsborough County.

Justin B. Lakin, 21, of Bradenton, had been driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla at 10:02 p.m. and was heading northbound in the southbound center lane of I-75 just south of Gibsonton Drive at Exit 250, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Emergency personnel were on the scene of the crash on Interstate 75.

His vehicle collided head-on with a 2009 Ford Focus driven by Lashay D. Walters, 24, of Bradenton.

Lakin, Walters and 21-year-old Yvette R. Alexandre of Ruskin, who had been a passenger in Walters’ vehicle, were all transported to Tampa General Hospital where they all died of injuries suffered in the crash.
