Three teenagers involved in three-vehicle crash on wet roadway

A 16-year-old was ticketed after a three-vehicle chain-reaction collision Thursday morning on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Lady Lake.

Hannah Lea Whittle of Fruitland Park had been at the wheel of a PT Cruiser at about 7 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and McClendon Street when her vehicle collided with the rear end of a 2005 Jeep Laredo driven by 16-year-old Zackery Glenn Partin of Fruitland Park, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. His vehicle was forced into the rear of a 1984 Datsun 300ZX driven by 17-year-old Nicholas Keagan Travers of Rockledge.

Whittle’s vehicle had to be towed due to radiator damage.

She was ticketed on a charge of following too closely.

The accident report noted the roadway was wet at the time of the accident.
