Trio of applicants seeking appointment to supervisor’s seat in CDD 7

Community Development District 7 supervisors will make an appointment to the board when they meet Thursday morning in a special session.

Supervisors will be filling a seat vacated by Ron Ruggeri who resigned in June.

Three Villagers are vying for the appointment:

• Mark Gallo serves as VHA director of VHA Region 7 which includes Bonita, Duval, Hadley and Hemingway. He is a representative of the Anita Villas in the Village of Bonita. He frequently attends CDD 7 meetings. He has lived in The Villages for eight years. He served 31 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel.

• Stephen Lapp is a resident of the Village of Duval and served as president of his homeowner’s association in Maryland. He moved to The Villages nine years ago and serves as the treasurer and webmaster for the Baby Boomers social club.  He had a career in computer forensics before moving to The Villages. Now, he helps out neighbors struggling with computer issues.

Villages eight years ago. He worked as a procurement officer for the Department of Defense. He also served as a commissioner with the Brick Township, N.J. Federal Housing Authority. Here in The Villages, Sullivan is active with several groups including the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and serves as a precinct committeeman.

The CDD 7 board will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday in the District Office at Lake Sumter Landing.
