To the Editor:

I had the misfortune of traveling via golf cart yesterday from Tamarind Grove to Wal-Mart on CR 466. What a disaster when you reach the Belvedere tunnel and find out you now must go back and around Laurel Manor Recreation Center, through Saddlebrook and Polo Ridge. This is ridiculous and over an hour to get to Wal-Mart. There must be an easier way to re-direct golf cart travel. Several years ago, the tunnel near Crispers was repaired and traffic was diverted over 101. Why could this not be done in this situation? The way this detour is set up is an accident waiting to happen. Golf carts are a main form of transportation and should be given more consideration.
