Two days of charity events will offer preview of Villages newest restaurant

Metro Diner’s doors will open for the first time on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the new location in The Villages.

The 4,797 square-foot eatery will be located at 4110 Wedgedwood Lane in Buffalo Ridge Plaza and will feature a menu of everyone’s favorite diner classics. Serving all day breakfast, lunch and dinner, the diner will indulge the taste buds with new twists on traditional dishes made-from-scratch.

“Guests feel at home when they come to Metro Diner because we welcome them as if they are coming to our own house,” said Metro Diner founder and Chef Mark Davoli. “The Villages is a tight-knit community and we look forward to instilling that same sense of familiarity when our diner opens its doors in the heart of the suburbs.”

Being creative with food, Davoli makes sure that guests don’t have to go far to discover new delicious dishes by featuring daily blackboard specials such as Peach Yo Hala on the Square, Pork Chops with a Spiced Apple Chutney, Turkey Pot Pie and more. The diner prides itself on quality ingredients and a scratch kitchen where they make their own sauces, soups and compotes. In addition, Metro Diner hand cuts their home fries and cracks fresh eggs daily. From its Fried Chicken and Waffles topped with house-made strawberry butter and signature sweet and spicy sauce, to its Charleston Shrimp and Grits, the large portion sizes enable every guest to enjoy a delicious meal at a great value, with most dishes priced under $15.

The diner will be hiring more than100 Villages residents. Applications to join the Metro Diner team will be accepted for all positions including servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff.  Applicants are encouraged to fill out application online at metrodiner.com/employment. 

Metro Diner is hosting a special pre-opening charity event on Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1. All proceeds will benefit the Helping Hands and Disabled American Veterans.

The diner will feature seating for 151 guests and will be open Monday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Established in 1992 by the Davoli family with a single eatery in Jacksonville, Metro Diner is among the nation’s fastest growing casual dining concepts. Metro Diner is known for its warm, welcoming service, large portion sizes and indulgent comfort food with flair.
