Two serious accidents tied up traffic Wednesday morning in The Villages.
The first occurred this morning on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at La Plaza Parkway, near the Historic Side of The Villages.
It appears one of the drivers in the two-car collision was blinded by the early-morning sun.
A driver of one of the vehicles was unresponsive with trauma visible on his head. Both drivers were transported to The Villages Regional Hospital.
The second accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. at Morse Boulevard and County Road 466A.
A vehicle had been southbound on Morse Boulevard and was attempting to make a left turn onto County Road 466A, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. It had a green light, but did not have a green left-turn arrow.
That vehicle collided with a vehicle that was northbound on Morse Boulevard.
There were no injuries, but the driver that was attempting the turn was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield.
