Two Village of Glenbrook residents will appear on Orlando Matters with Ryan Elijah on Saturday Aug. 12 to discuss Spinal Muscular Atrophy and the 2017 Hope for Children Cure SMA Golf Tournament for SMA Families in The Villages.
Allan and Hazel White’s grandson Henry, is one of many infants affected by SMA. Their neighbor Bob Chartock coordinated the Cure SMA event in support of the couple’s grandson.
The segment was taped on Aug. 9, but will air this Saturday on Orlando Matters’ Station MY65 WBRW between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
The discussion will raise awareness on SMA, the number one genetic killer of infants, as well as the 2017 Golf Tournament fundraiser.
The 2017 Hope for Children Cure SMA Golf Tournament for SMA Families will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24 at the Hacienda Hills Country Club. It will start at 11 a.m. and includes a shotgun start. The fee to play is $100 and is tax deductible. All net proceeds will go to Cure SMA, in hopes of finding the treatment for this incurable disease.
