Updated FHP report identifies family members killed in weekend accident on I-75 in Alachua County

An updated Florida Highway Patrol report has identified four family members killed in an accident Sunday on Interstate 75 in Alachua County.

Nathan E. Russell, 37, of Hollywood, had been at the wheel of a southbound 2016 Chrysler 200 at 8:43 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a disabled semi tractor-trailer truck operated by Alton Lucius Gravely, 55, of Newberry, according to an accident report from FHP. Russell and three passengers, 35-year-old Lynda Russell, 15-year-old La’Nyah Russell and 10-year-old Natayah Russell, were all killed as a result of the collision. Ten-year-old Nathan Russell Jr. suffered critical injuries and was transported to UF Shands Hospital.

Only Natayah Russell had been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, the report indicated.
