Vera Theo Beach, 99, wife of the late R. Elbert Beach Sr. of Leesburg, FL, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Okeechobee, FL. Born May 23, 1917 in Tuscanooga Island (Mascotte), FL, she was the daughter of the late Walter Scott and Rhoda Lee Wilson Merritt. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Leesburg, FL. Mrs. Beach enjoyed attending church, studying her Bible daily, and word search puzzles. She loved her family and friends and derived great joy from being of service to them, especially cooking for family dinners and church socials.
She is survived by her children, Ralph (Sally) Beach Jr. of Okeechobee, FL, Sylvia Mackey of Vero Beach, FL and Donald (Bonnie) Beach of Indiantown, FL; 7 grandchildren: Ralph E. Beach III (Vero Beach), Joanne Beach Roberts (Indiantown), Terry Mackey (Vero Beach), Tommy Mackey (Ft. Pierce), Kimberly Beach (Okeechobee), Regina Beach Cox (Indiantown) and Tim Mackey (Sebastian); and 8 great-grandchildren: Daniel Beach (Stuart), Megan Charles (Ft. Pierce), Justin Mackey (Vero Beach), Wyatt Cox (Indiantown), Reganne Beach (Okeechobee), Mason Cox (Indiantown), Morgan Mackey (Sebastian) and Myranda Cox (Indiantown) .
She was preceded in death by her siblings Curtis Merritt, Bernice Merritt, Myrtle Thomas, Kermith “Buddy” Merritt, Bernard “Bill” Merritt, Alfred “Pete” Merritt, Arie Godwin, Melvin “Jack” Merritt and Hazel Fowler.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 12 p.m. (Noon) at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Florida with a visitation to be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. till the hour of service. The burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida.
