Vernon L. Koffman

Vernon L. Koffman, 90, Lady Lake, FL passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014. He was born in Jackson, TN, and was a veteran of World War II having served as a Marine from January 13, 1942 to November 8, 1945. He was a member of Oxford First Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting and when he could see well enough he raised beautiful roses that he would cut and give to people. Mr. Koffman was loved by many people and had lifetime childhood friends that said he had always been an inspiration to them. Many of the workers at the nursing home said he was special to them as well. He never complained, even with all his illnesses and blindness. He would always say there were people out there in worse condition than he was. He had two pet cats that miss him and and he will be missed by many, but he is with Jesus now. Mr. Koffman was a loving husband to his wife Wanda for 45 years. A funeral service will be held at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 12:30 p.m..
