Vesta Mary Ford, age 93, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on May 20, 2017 at the South Campus Rehab Center. Vesta was born in 1924 in Paradis, LA to her parents Joseph A. and Clamelia Ayo.

She was a dedicated wife and mother and her family was her main focus. She was an active member of the Central Baptist Church in Leesburg.

Vesta is survived by her loving family, daughters, “The Ford Girls”, Carol Vesta Johnson, Leesburg, FL; Cathryn “Kitty” Ann Yost, Leesburg, FL; Gayle “Christy” Tennyson, Leesburg, FL; Cevie Lynn Kirkland, Clairmore, OK; 8 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Beyers Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The family will also receive friends on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 10 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jay Williams officiating. Vesta will be laid to rest privately at the Florida National Cemetery with the love of her life, her husband, Lonnie C. Ford who was a Merchant Marine during WWII.

In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations be made to Central Baptist Church in Leesburg, FL.
