The VHA Board of Directors votes in favor of name change

The VHA Board of Directors has voted and approved a change in name  from “The Villages Homeowners Association” to “The VHA.

“You will see the change implemented as quickly as we can make it happen,” VHA President Fred Briggs said.

A new logo will be introduced soon.

“I’m sure that many of our members are wondering why the change. The facts are that we were never a Homeowners Association in the real sense of the words. We don’t have the authority to exercise rules/regulations etc. as most associations do. We are constantly receiving phone calls/letters from lenders of all types asking for our organizational documents so they can confirm clear titles/deeds for property transactions,” Briggs said.

The VHA will remain a resident’s advocacy group and will continue to work with partners to identify and resolve issues that confront membership and all residents, he added.
