VHS student musicians to share the stage with Villages celebrities in live performance

The Villages Charter High School student musicians will have the opportunity to share the stage with Villages celebrities, as well as their mentors and music professors at the Laurel Manor Recreation Center Lincoln Theater later this week.

The Buffalo Music Boosters will feature performances given by student musicians at the event, which is called “Dance the Night Away,” where attendants can enjoy the music and dance.

Also on stage will be The Music Mixx and The Jazz Workshop. The Music Mixx is a group that has performed in The Villages for the past six years, consisting of members who are studio musicians to Platinum Record and Grammy winners.

The Music Mixx has also made TV appearances with artists such as Whitney Houston, Lee Greenwood and the Mamas & Papas.

The Jazz Workshop consists of retired music teachers, mentors, and professors to the students. They have been performing in The Villages and have performed at the Savannah Center and Jazz Festivals.

The event is bring your own soft drink beverages and snacks. General admission to the event is $18.

All proceeds go toward a scholarship and education fund for VHS student musicians.

The event will be on Friday, March 31 and will start at 6 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
