Vicky Currie Watkins, 74, of Fruitland Park, Florida, passed away September 25, 2017. Born in Temple, TX on August 8, 1943, Vicky was the daughter of James and Myrtle Currie.

She graduated from West High School, Salt Lake City, UT and attended post secondary school at St. Petersburg Community College where she met the love of her life, James Clay Watkins. Jim and Vicky were married in Salt Lake City, UT on August 8, 1962. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 20, 1966.

Vicky was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; recently serving as an assistant to the temple matron. She served in many church positions throughout her life. She loved her association with the Relief Society sisters of the church. Vicky is respected and loved by all those whose life she has touched.

Vicky was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James C. Watkins; children, J. Clayton “Clay” (Elaine) Watkins, Kimberly “KC” (Anthony) Hornsby, Chad (Natalie) Watkins, Jodi (Nathan) Hawthorne, and Jamie (Jeremy) Martin; her 18 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father & mother, James & Myrtle Currie; brother, J. David McMillian; sisters, Dawn Lindstrom and Gail Eldredge.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1875 Mount Vernon Road, Leesburg, FL 34748; the Viewing is at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Service at 10 a.m.
