Vietnam Veterans raise $26,500 at golf tournament at Cane Garden

The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter No. 1036 raised $26,500 through their second annual golf tournament May 19 at Cane Garden Champions Golf Course.
A total of 308 golfers participated in the event with Hole-In-One prizes provided by Jenkins Auto Group Leesburg, Advantage Golf Cars Wildwood and Star EV Golf Cars Lady Lake.
“It was a beautiful day and the event ran smoothly under the direction of Cane Garden staff supervised by Golf Manager David Williams and Asst. Manager Andy Hart,” said Golf Tournament Chairman Pete Wagner.
Fund-raising director for the event was Brian Sanford.
An awards dinner was held at Lake Miona Recreation Center after the event, at which winners were presented with plaques and prizes.
“We wish to thank all of the participants in the event. Special thanks to all of the Golf Committee members and volunteers who assisted us,” Wagner said.
Wagner said he wanted to extend a special thank you to Corporate Sponsor Lake Advisory Group, and their leaders Dan Doan and Skip West for their generous financial support.
“Also to Elaine Hirschfeld who has been a constant supporter of our chapter,” Wagner said.
Money raised at this event and will be used to fund the chapter’s many charitable endeavors.
