Villages-News.com critic Jack Petro has taken first place in the 2016 Creative Writer’s Notebook Short Story Contest.

Petro won for “How I Learned to Lie.”

This is the second First Place win for Petro, whose “D.C. Hill” took First in 2011, Journeys V.

In the past nine years Jack’s stories have won or been named honorable mention honorees, including “Tunnel”, 2nd in 2008. Journeys II; “The Princess,” second place in 2009, Journeys III, and “D.C. Hill” 1st in 2011, Journeys V. ; “Grimm”, 2nd, Journeys VIII.
