A 67-year-old Village of Hillsborough man was arrested Monday evening after his Lexus SUV hit the curb in the roundabout at Hillsborough Trail and Buena Vista Boulevard.

Stephen James Menyhar was found at 5:49 p.m. in his vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A passerby had seen the SUV hit the curb in the roundabout and took the keys out of the vehicle, the arrest report indicated. He had seen the SUV drift across the lane. He told a deputy that Menyhar’s SUV had been in neutral and he had floored the gas pedal.

The deputy found a bottle of whiskey in the front seat of the SUV. Menyhar could not stand on his own and did not know where he had been or where he was going, the arrest report indicated.

Menyhar provided breath samples that registered .150 and .146 blood alcohol level.

Menyhar was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $1,000.
