A Village of Winifred husband and wife are volunteering at the PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
It is the second time Bill and and Nancy Petri have worked the tournament. They also volunteered in 2010.
They are in charge of a fleet of six Mercedes-Benz automobiles for “player evacuation.”
“We had the same job in 2010, but a different location. We work in Zone 1 and evacuate players from hole 2 – green, hole 3, hole 6 -fairway and green, hole 7, and hole 8 – tee box,” Nancy Petri said.
On Friday, a bad a storm hit.
“The storm took down the main score board and broke it into many pieces, tents throughout the course and TV towers. We had strong winds, rain, thunder and lightning,” she said.
Earlier we brought you the story of Villager George Allmann who is marshaling at the 6th hole of the same event. You can read about that here http://villages-news.com/villager-to-marshal-6th-hole-at-pga-tourney/
