A Villager was among the passengers on a LakeXpress public transport bus rearended by a Leesburg driver at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.
Kathryn M. Zwolski, 74, of the Village of Alhambra was among the passengers on the bus which was stopped in traffic to pick up additional passengers. The bus was rearended by a vehicle driven by Carolyn L. Clark, 72, of Leesburg who was ticketed on a charge of careless driving, according to a Lady Lake Police Department accident report. Clark and a passenger in her vehicle, 90-year-old Guy E. Smith of Leesburg, were transported from the scene of the accident to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.
The Lynx bus was driven by 42-year-old Jorge L. Garay of Minneola.
Additional passengers on the bus included:
• Ruth A. Butterworth, 54, of Lady Lake;
• Gracie Chavis, an infant, of Leesburg;
• Christina L. Jelks, 36, of Apopka;
• David L. White, 19, of Lady Lake;
• Parada S. Erlan, 47, of Lady Lake.
The passengers were transferred to another LakeXpress bus.
