A 73-year-old Village of De La Vista man who had been arrested in January in an alleged attack on his finance, appears poised to avoid prosecution.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies had been called Jan. 22 the home of Simon Doucet on Hildalgo Drive. Doucet’s fiance had gone to a neighbor’s house to call 911 after he took her phone, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office. She said Doucet slapped her twice in the face for drinking a glass of wine. She said he had also punched her when she returned to start packing a suitcase.
Doucet became enraged and had to be transported to The Villages Regional Hospital when his blood pressure spiked. You can read more about the original incident HERE
On March 10 in Sumter County Court, Doucet agreed to enter into a pre-trial intervention program. If he completes the terms of the agreement, the case will be dismissed.
