A 69-year-old Villager was arrested after she allegedly attempted to steal items from the Goodwill Superstore in The Villages.

Security cameras captured Prakob Beeman of 711 Melendez Way putting five items into her purse and then leaving the store, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The items had a total value of $16.37. She was stopped by store security and taken back into the store.

When a deputy arrived, Beeman told the deputy she had “messed up and took the items,” the arrest report indicated.

She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of petit theft and released after posting $1,000 bond.
