Villager arrested on felony charge after threatening brother with knives

A Village of Country Club Hills man has been arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault after allegedly threatening his brother with a pair of kitchen knives.

Michael N. Heaney, 56, was arrested by Lady Lake police in the 1700 block of Pebble Beach Lane on the Historic Side of The Villages following the incident at about 1 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of Myrtle Beach Drive.

The victim told police they had argued about money and Heaney pulled two kitchen knives from a butcher block and threatened to kill him, according to the arrest report. The victim called 911 and Heaney dropped the knives and left the house, the arrest report indicated.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $5,000 bond.
