Villager arrested on charge of trespassing at Southern Trace

A 60-year-old Villager was jailed on a charge of trespassing following her arrest Sunday night at the Circle K service station at Southern Trace.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at 10:20 p.m. after Mary Therese Thompson-Verbick of Barbados Place in The Villages was found at the service station from which she had been previously trespassed. She seemed “very distraught,” according to the arrest report.

She was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $1,000.
