A 79-year-old Villager is free on $2,000 bond following his arrest Tuesday on a warrant charging him with trespassing.

Richard N. Hendricks was arrested after he allegedly showed up Saturday at the Mark Twain Library at the Paradise Recreation Center on the Historic Side of The Villages. When a library volunteer spotted Hendricks, she tried to lock the door to prevent him from entering. He waited until the door was reopened for other library patrons and entered the facility, according to an arrest report. He left before law enforcement arrived.

Hendricks was spotted Tuesday by a Lady Lake police officer at Del Mar Drive and Main Street. The officer confirmed that there was an active warrant for Hendricks’ arrest and he was taken into custody.

Hendricks’ has been repeatedly notified by The Villages that he is banned from all recreation centers, fitness clubs, squares, softball fields, parks and swimming pools. Hendricks has defied that ban many times this year and has been arrested a half dozen times.
