A 68-year-old Villager escaped injury in a two-vehicle accident this weekend in Pennsylvania.
The accident took place at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at State Routes 77 and 8 in Bloomfield Township.
Corry-based state police indicated John Middleton, 75, of Corry, was traveling east on Route 77, when he reportedly failed to yield to oncoming traffic at the intersection of Routes 8 and 77. Middleton’s vehicle struck another vehicle driven by Gordon Carlson of The Villages. Upon impact, Middleton’s vehicle traveled 45 feet south on Route 8 before coming to rest. Carlson’s vehicle continued its path south on Route 8 for 59 feet before coming to rest.
Carlson, Middleton and a passenger in Middleton’s vehicle, Jonetta Middleton, 73, of Corry, were not injured. All of them were wearing seat belts.
Middleton was charged with an alleged failure to yield at a stop sign.
