Villager finds ID card, tracks down owner through phone book

Good samaritan returns Villager's ID card

There are about six or seven men named “Richard Johnson” in The Villages.

John Cummings, of The Village of Lake Deaton, called every single one to look for the owner of a lost Villages ID card.

After filling his tank at the Shell gas station near Colony Plaza, Cummings noticed an ID card with the name “Richard Johnson” laying on the pavement.

He picked up the card and thought about returning it to the gas station attendant in case Johnson returned to the Shell station. When he noticed how hectic and busy the station was, he thought it might just be easier to reach out to Johnson directly.

So Cummings proceeded to the white pages and called each Richard Johnson listed. After he found the right one, they arranged a meet up at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Brownwood where Johnson was grateful for the diligence of another Good Samaritan in The Villages.
